Satcom1’s AvioIP advanced router software suite has been installed and approved for the first time on Bombardier’s Global Express, with EASA, FAA and TCCA validation.
The AvioIP software, installed on EMTEQ’s eConnect router, features user management, data compression and acceleration, along with dual Inmarsat SwiftBroadband channel aggregation, guaranteeing inflight connectivity data speed rates of up to 800kbps.
This is the first ever installation with the advanced features approved on Bombardier’s Global Express and was installed by RUAG Aerospace Services GMBH.
Karina Larsen, Satcom1’s VP Partnerships and Contracts, said: “Satcom1 is extremely proud to partner with EMTEQ, which is very successful with their eConnect Router/IFE/CMS product.
“eConnect is light and provides a large number of features in ‘one box’ compared with connectivity and cabin networks from just a few years ago.
“EMTEQ has successfully achieved a number of STCs, particularly targeting the mid-size business jet market and yet another Bombardier aircraft network is a great result. We believe, that they will have large success with their product.”
Satcom1’s AvioIP router software application suite has been installed on corporate, VVIP, and head-of-state aircraft since 2005.
